14 Wins in Ankara for Our U15 National Team

Our national badminton team returned from Ankara with 14 wins.
Our Under-15 national team returned home on the evening of 19 August after winning 14 matches at the Turkish Championships in Ankara.
At the Under-15 Badminton Championship, which began on 9 August at the Pursaklar Sports Hall in Ankara, our TRNC national team won 9 of its 12 singles matches on the first day. Matches ran from 10.00 to 21.00; Vedat Özkıran, Seymen G. Deniz, Doğa Tehdit and Kaan Benli won in the boys' events, and Deniz Yüksekbaş, Sıla Hacıarif (2 wins) and Perin Dinç (2 wins) progressed in the girls' events. On the second day, Kaan and Vedat won in men's doubles and Nisan and Aycan in women's doubles, while Seymen Deniz, Kaan Benli and Doğa Tehdit also won in men's singles. Our players lost their matches on the third day and finished the tournament with 14 wins. Federation President Fırat Deniz, who watched the matches with Turkish Badminton Federation President Murat Özmekik on the second day, presented him with a towel bearing the logos of both federations to thank him for the equipment donated to us. President Deniz noted that 650 athletes took part and that the large field gave our children more matches and valuable experience. He said the athletes were very happy and that, in this very busy period, the children's joy made them forget their tiredness. On the last day, our national team athletes also took part in a Rexona promotional event supporting the Turkish national basketball team ahead of the European Basketball Championship and were each given a scarf.
